A Great Read anytime

Many thanks to author Mike Torreano for sending an ‘emergency’ copy of his book “A Score to Settle” while staying at the hospital for a couple weeks after an aircraft accident. I loved his first two books so much he sent me his latest in record time. Author, Colonel or otherwise known as ‘Uncle’ Mike Torreano was a fellow Air Force Academy Graduate and Cadet Sponsor while I was at the Air Force Academy. I spent many weekends hanging out at his house on the edge of the Rocky Mountains listening to his stories. No surprise he would write so many fantastic westerns.

Over the years when visiting Uncle Mike’s Colorado home, I spent a good amount of time asking him questions. I was so interested about where the setting of the novel was along the Colorado Rockies, how he came up with the characters and how he formed their values and spirits. I wish I could share all those discussions with his readers.

My favorite book was ‘A Score to Settle’, Mike’s story telling skills really came to life for me in this book. Luckily I could take my time reading it at the hospital, even with the difficulty of reading with one eye. I will always appreciate that one eye read. Great book!
